It would be intereting to know if Maskell is still around. I have a painting approx. 24X36 of what appears to be a passenger ship, two tug boats, and the statue of Liberty, signed by K. Maskell.
5/9/2012 I found a rather large K.Maskell at an estate sale a few years ago ($20.00), beautiful w/lighthouse, ship has a American Flag. Us Navy shows Maskell in the 1800-1899 section of painting they archive. I have not been able to locate a value for this and only assume that K.Maskell lived/painted in the 19th century.
I have one also that I bought at a "shabby chic" furniture store unframed for 38 dollars. I'd like to know more about it. Canvas frame doesn't seem that old to me.
I have one I received from a friend about 10 years or so ago. Mine shows the ship with the statue of liberty and the twin towers so it would seem they were done around the the time the twin towers were built Hope this helps
I OWN ONE WITH A FRAME AROUND IT THAT IS GREY AND WHITE. IT SEEMS TO BE ON A STORMY OCEAN WATER SPLASHING UP THE SIDE OF THE SAIL BOAT WITH 3 LARGE MAST AND 3 SINGLE MAST. THIS ONE ALSO HAS A LIGHT HOUSE WITH A PARTIAL FENCE AROUND IT, AND AN AMERICAN FLAG ON THE REAR MAST SHOWINGS SIX STARS. LAST TIME I FOUND A PRICE ON THIS PARTICULAR OIL PAINTING IT WAS AT $250.00 THAT WAS IN I BELIEVE 2007
Did K.Maskell have other oil painting of different ships at sea?

ReplyDeleteI also own one and would love to know what they are worth?
ReplyDeleteI own the original three masted frigate by Maskell, also an oil on canvas and have been wondering the worth if it for quite some time.
